How the shared color foundation works
Color collectionPrimitives are the governed values distributed to the platform UI Kits. They supply Brand selectors and platform semantic layers, but components do not bind to them directly.
Group | Purpose | Selection behavior |
|---|---|---|
| Base | Context-free white, black, and transparent white. | Fixed |
| Core | Exact ParentSquare corporate identity colors for approved shared artwork. | Fixed and never a tenant selector |
| Brand | Fixed UI-support ramps. Green and Cyan also supply the Monet selector sources. | Fixed unless referenced by an approved selector |
| Theme | Approved chromatic ramps that can feed Brand / Primary or Brand / Secondary. | Selected through a Brand collection |
| Theme / Supporting Neutral | One tuned neutral profile for each active Primary mode. | Follows Primary only |
Use roles, not values
Color, Brand / Primary, or Brand / Secondary.Base colors
These context-free values support aliasing and effects. Transparent White preserves a white RGB channel for interpolation and is not interchangeable with transparent black.
ParentSquare Core colors
Core colors reproduce the ParentSquare identity exactly. They are spot colors for approved shared artwork such as logos, not ramp steps, tenant choices, semantic roles, or component-facing tokens.
Corporate identity stays fixed
Fixed Brand ramps
These eleven ramps support stable UI meaning across every Brand selection. Green and Cyan also act as the approved Monet Primary and Secondary sources.

Primary-owned brand neutrals
Each active Primary mode owns one tuned supporting-neutral profile. These subtle values let surfaces, fields, borders, muted content, and disabled states feel related to the active Brand without turning the interface into a field of saturated color.
- The profile follows Primary. Secondary never selects a second neutral profile.
- Profiles are generated, contrast-tested, reviewed, and versioned before release.
- Products select an approved context. They do not calculate a new neutral ramp.
- Fixed Neutral remains available for roles that must not inherit tenant identity.
